Altran Praxis supports local charity with donation

Staff working at Bath-based business Altran Praxis have donated £1,540 to local charity, Dorothy House Hospice Care. The donation was made by the iFACTS project team at Altran Praxis, which works with NATS, the UK’s leading air traffic services provider to develop advanced software for air traffic controllers. Altran Praxis and NATS staff made the donation. Altran Praxis representative Anna Mascetti recently visited Dorothy House to present the cheque.

Dorothy House Hospice Care is a local Bath charity which provides free services in the community and at the hospice. It offers care to patients and their families facing life threatening illness, death or bereavement, who have problems which require specialist support. Dorothy House Hospice Care will use the donation to provide expert support and advice on pain and symptom relief, offer physiotherapy and complementary therapy sessions, run creative projects for day patients and give support to family and carers.

"I'm delighted to receive the cheque from the iFACTS team at Altran Praxis and to show them some of the work that their donation has helped to fund,” said Katrina Sudbury, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Dorothy House Hospice Care. “As we only receive about a quarter of our funding from the NHS, we rely greatly on fundraising initiatives like this by local companies, to enable us to continue to give our free care to more than 700 families every day."

Jason Glew, project lead, iFACTS, commented: “As a Bath-based business, the team wanted to use this donation to support a charity in our local area. Dorothy House Hospice Care provides round the clock care and support to local families and we’re extremely pleased that we are able to support their ongoing work with this donation.”
