Altran Praxis Wins Supplier Performance Award in recognition of its role in the development of iFACTS
Altran Praxis, the international specialist in embedded and critical systems engineering, today announced that it has become one of just a few suppliers to be awarded the coveted NATS Supplier Performance Award by NATS, the UK’s leading air traffic control organisation. The accolade is in recognition of Altran Praxis’ role in the development of
iFACTS, which provides tools for trajectory prediction, conflict detection and monitoring aids, and support to other air traffic control management systems.
Altran Praxis achieved a consistently high rating from stakeholders across a number of the areas assessed as part of NATS Supply Chain Management’s Supplier Performance Management (SPM) programme, which combines both quantitative and qualitative criteria to measure performance such as ‘partnering behaviours’ and value for money to technical service provision and strategy alignment.
Mike Stoller, NATS Engineering and Programmes Director, commented: “This is a great achievement for Altran Praxis who has proven to be a very capable and supportive supplier. The continuous improvement they have demonstrated over a number of years is testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams and another validation of the strength of our management of Supplier Relationships.”
NATS’ SPM programme is a formalised process that benchmarks a supplier’s performance. It scores the supplier in four key areas:
- Delivery - this category scores performance in terms of quality and timing of delivery and also captures how the supplier manages these criteria if a project changes.
- Commercial - this category scores the supplier in terms of their commercial performance which looks at cost optimisation plans, value engineering, tender activities and commercial transparency.
- Technology and Capability - this category measures technical and engineering expertise, innovation and service.
- Management Systems – this category scores the supplier business management systems, such as a supplier’s internal auditing processes and their risk management.
Keith Williams, Altran Group Executive Director for Embedded & Critical Systems, and the Group Managing Director of Altran Praxis, said:
"NATS is incredibly important to the UK. On a day-to-day basis it enables thousands of air passengers to fly across the UK and the world. As the NATS Supplier Performance Award has only been awarded to a handful of suppliers, we are extremely honoured to be given this accolade and look forward to continuing to support NATS on their superior and critical technology."
