The Institution of Engineering and Technology unveils - pioneering embedded and critical systems innovations of 2011
The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has announced the shortlisted entries for the Embedded and Critical Systems category of its
2011 Innovation Awards
Sponsored by Altran Praxis, the Embedded and Critical Systems category is one of 15, designed to celebrate the most innovative companies operating across a variety of sectors in engineering and technology.
The 2011 IET Innovation Awards received over 420 entries from around the world, including New Zealand, India, USA and Italy. With over 70 finalists, this year's shortlist showcases some of the most ground-breaking technologies designed to resolve some of today's most prevalent social and economic challenges.
Keith Williams, Altran Praxis Group Managing Director and Altran Group Executive Director – Embedded & Critical Systems commented: “Innovation is pivotal to the success of the Embedded and Critical Systems sector so as sponsors of this year's 2011 IET Awards we were keen to recognise the talent that is driving the industry forward. The Judging Panel were very impressed by the quality of the entries that were submitted, and selecting the shortlist was incredibly difficult.”
The winners will be announced at a black tie gala Awards Ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel, London on 9 November 2011. Host for the night will be Robert Llewellyn, actor, writer and presenter best known for playing the role of "Kryten" in the hit science fiction sitcom Red Dwarf.
The finalists in all 15 categories can be seen at the IET Innovation Awards website.
