La Certification CMMI ouvre de nouvelles opportunités Business pour Altran

Altran Praxis guide Altran vers la certification CMMI

Altran Praxis, the international specialist in embedded and critical systems engineering, is pleased to announce that the Altran Embedded and Critical Systems Software Engine has received Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level three, following an external appraisal validated by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in July 2011.

Altran Praxis is a key part of the Embedded & Critical Systems Solution Centre and played a key role in helping Altran achieve international CMMI appraisal in just 11 months. The appraisal covered six projects across four delivery teams within Altran (Bath, Sophia Antipolis, Paris and Bangalore). The CMMI appraisal forms a significant part of the Altran Praxis business transformation programme which was launched last year led by the Altran Group to enable the company to offer higher value services to customers internationally. The CMMI appraisal will open up local opportunities for Altran Praxis as it gains more access to major clients and more widely as it becomes a focal point for large-scale projects identified by Altran’s world-wide business team.

CMMI is a process improvement approach, which helps organisations to improve their performance by managing, defining and measuring processes before optimising them to ensure that they are as efficient as possible. Companies are increasingly seeking CMMI level three compliant suppliers, as the appraisal provides assurance that they will receive a consistently high quality service. To achieve a CMMI level three appraisal, Altran was measured on 18 separate areas of the development process, including project planning, project monitoring and control, and risk management.

"At the global level we need CMMI for three reasons: firstly to consolidate and capture our deep knowledge of embedded and critical software development; secondly, so we can quickly deploy this capability in new countries to accelerate our growth; and finally because our clients are increasingly adopting CMMI and want their major partners to do the same," said Keith Williams, Altran Praxis Group Managing Director and Altran Group Executive Director, Embedded & Critical Systems.

"Altran Praxis has led this initiative and has been able to gain this certification in a very short period due to the company’s vast experience of developing embedded and critical software. The appraisal opens up many new and exciting business opportunities for Altran Praxis and Altran, both locally and around the world."
